DOSH Response to Social Distancing on Construction Sites |
|
Thank you for your concerns about social distancing for essential construction workers. There are definitely going to be times when it is not possible to adhere to the six foot guidance. For those instances it is best to limit the time employees spend within 6 feet of each other to the minimum amount and to encourage proper hygiene and sanitation as appropriate.

April Meetings Canceled |

Due to the COVID-19 social distance directive, all April IBEW Local 76 membership meetings have been canceled. This will not affect the Executive Board meeting scheduled for April 21, 2020. The E-Board meeting will be conducted via conference call.

It has come to our attention that contractors are requiring employees to sign liability waivers as a condition of employment. If you are told by your employer that you must sign a waiver of liability

Contact the hall immediately
Secure a copy of the waiver if possible and do not sign the waiver.

NECA/IBEW National Disease Emergency Response Agreement (NDERA)
This Agreement is made and entered into by and between the National Electrical Contractors Association
(“NECA”) and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (“IBEW”) (together “Parties”), and
it is applicable to all firms and IBEW local unions that sign a Letter of Assent to be bound to a construction agreement between any chapter of NECA and any local union of the IBEW. The IBEW may make this Agreement available to other employers in the construction industry that have not signed a Letter of Assent to be bound to a construction agreement between any chapter of NECA and any local union of the IBEW.

COVID-19 IBEW Local 76 Standby and Layoff Update |
|
IBEW Local 76 is currently putting plans and procedures in place that will address Washington State’s most recent COVID-19 Stay at Home order. We have been told that we will receive more explicit directions tomorrow afternoon regarding construction jobsites that are considered essential and jobsites that will be shutdown.
